    Mining Essential, a French company based near Paris, has developed Essential Summarizer, an Android application offering multilingual electronic-text summary. This application, which is available to download in Google Play, allows the user to follow the essential points of the latest news stories by automatically summarizing electronic documents such as search-engine extracts, news articles and Tweets.

    Mining Essential, which specialises in software solutions for the automated summarizing of online text-based information, will be showcasing its innovative technology at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade fair, due to take place in Barcelona (Spain) from 24 to 27 February of this year. The company will be exhibiting on the French Pavilion, in Hall 5 (Stand 5B61, Station 54).

    Essential Summarizer has been developed over a period of 18 years following extensive R&D and works primarily on intelligent sentence extraction, using both linguistic and semantic methods. The application is able to summarize documents in over 20 languages - Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.

    Essential Summarizer is compatible with search engines such as Bing, Google, Wikipedia, Yahoo and Baidu (in China). It is also able to summarize news from Google and MSN as well as documents attached to Tweets from leading newspapers in six countries - Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, the UK and the USA.

    The solution developed by Mining Essential is available as an Android application to download to smartphones and tablet devices. Several packages are available, including a downloadable single-user version; a version accessible in SaaS-subscription mode; a version that is accessible via a server installation providing a Java API; and, finally, a Java web-service version for integration into third-party applications.

    Essential Summarizer covers more than 150 thematic areas with its innovative text-mining features. The application's key functionalities include text-by-text summary with choice of thematic area, n summaries for n source texts, and multi-document synthesis.
