This is the second consecutive year that MHA Lighting's projects and products have been shortlisted for the Electrical Industry Awards.

In 2012 MHA were double finalists in the 'Energy Efficiency Initiative of the Year' and 'Innovative Lighting Product of the Year' categories - winning the 'Lighting Product of the Year' category.

The Electrical Industry Awards, run by Purple Media Ltd, were first held in 1992 and recognise those companies that are leading the way in the electrical industry, by highlighting success, talent and innovation.

Tom Harrison, managing director of MHA Lighting, said: "The Electrical Industry Awards are a prized accolade for companies operating in the electrical industry. Being named a finalist in these prestigious awards for a second year in succession is testimony to the hard work, talent and dedication of all MHA's staff."

MHA was named one of eight finalists in the 'Energy and Carbon Saving' category, for its pioneering project at Tyco International Company, Skelmersdale-based Scott Safety, which has reduced its annual lighting energy consumption from 263,907 kW/h (annual cost of £26,391) to just 51,730kW/h - a reduction of 81%, saving over 2,000 Tonnes of Co2, saving over £400,000.

Tom added: "We take great pride in creating pioneering lighting solutions and products that enable organisations spanning all sectors, to achieve significant energy and efficiency savings."

MHA's finalist-status continues a successful 2013, having already scooped three industry awards:
