India's Top Startups Get Funding at Techcircle Startup 2012

    Around 20 entrepreneurs across sectors e-commerce, mobile, cloud and consumer services addressed the audience comprising of over 200, several of them budding entrepreneurs. Prominent venture capitalist Alok Mittal - MD, Canaan Partners India was one of the speakers at the event.

    "The first edition of the event witnessed over 100 startups participating in it apart from the 40 investors and 200 delegates. We intend to make it bigger next year", said the Techcircle Startup 2012 organisers overwhelmed by the response the event received.

    Several startups with disruptive ideas competed against each other for a place in Showcase - an event where 10 startups were selected to present their idea to venture capitalists and get funded. Some very interesting startups like TravelKhana.com, Qlicket & Roads Less Travelled got to present their ideas and business models to venture capitalists. These startups are touted to be large businesses of tomorrow and would be receiving the promised funding within a week's time. The event also provided a platform for entrepreneurs to meet like-minded people who could be potential co-founders as part of Co-founder Dating.

    Delegates attending Techcircle Startup 2012 participated in talks by speakers on topics such as five mistakes startups make and how to avoid them; parallel entrepreneurship in India - what gets an entrepreneur going and the pitfalls to avoid; raising capital for your startup; and making the most of the Indian accelerator ecosystem building a global vision for your company, thus gaining interesting insights in building more awareness and knowledge in the dynamics of starting a business.
