  • (1888PressRelease) October 07, 2010 - Impelsys, a global leader in electronic content delivery solutions, has announced the launch of its iPad module for iPublishCentral, the industry-leading e-publishing platform, to empower publishers to get their customized iPad apps and deliver content on iPad. The iPad module on iPublishCentral will be showcased at Frankfurt Book Fair 2010 for the first time, and a live demonstration will be available at Impelsys' Stand # L-993 in Hall 8.0 on all days of the fair.

This new exciting module will empower publishers to offer their customers content on iPad through their own customized iPad apps. The iPublishCentral platform is a powerful, scalable solution that empowers publishers to keep up with industry trends and the iPad module lives up to this promise.

The customized iPad app will allow users to connect effortlessly to the publishers eBookstore, access the catalog of titles, preview content, and make instant purchases through their iPAD app, opening up exciting new opportunities for sales and content delivery.

"The launch of the iPad was an exciting event for the publisher community. With the incredible success of the iPad, publishers were keen to capitalize on this demand and have a content delivery strategy for this device. We spotted this opportunity and built this module for iPublishCentral so that all our customers can make full use of the market demand and get their content out to millions of iPad users", said Sameer Shariff, CEO, Impelsys.

The publisher can make his customized app available as a free download on 'The Apple App Store', and installed by the user on his iPad. Through this app, the user can log in to his subscribed ebookstore, view the catalog, access his subscribed bookshelf, purchase any new titles that he likes, and download all or selected books directly on his iPad. Once downloaded, the user can carry and read his books on his iPad conveniently.

"With iPad, readers finally have a platform for consuming rich-content in digital form. With our iPad module, publishers can take full advantage of their content with customized iPad apps, as well as, create enhanced eBooks for the iPad, where words, pictures, audio, and video come together on a single page", Sameer added.

Since its launch, many new features and functionalities have been added to iPublishCentral, making it the most powerful, robust and flexible eBook platform infrastructure on-the-cloud available in the market today.

Some of the other significant updates made to iPublishCentral include:

    - ACS4 server integration that ensures publishers' PDF and EPUB files are protected and delivered onto eInk devices

    - Single Sign-On option for institutional users, that allows them to use their existing accounts to access content on iPublishCentral, with Shibboleth authentication

    - Redemption of pre-generated PIN codes, by users, to access content available on iPublishCentral even from a third-party portal

iPublishCentral has empowered hundreds of publishers across the globe such as Elsevier, Encyclopedia Britannica, Sesame Workshop, MIT Press, American Medical Association among others, to open up new geographies, build direct relationship with readers and generate new revenue streams.
