Accompanying Hope on their visit to Haiti will be CNN correspondent Ines Ferre & Hollywood Actress, Kate Nauta as well as Pastor Larry Mark from Dreams Church in Detroit.

Twelve years ago Mike Jean arrived in the United States from the city of Carrefour, Haiti to build his career in America. By 2001, Jean had become CEO of his own record label, Moonlight Entertainment. Desiring to become a role model for Haitian youth as well as demonstrating the great talents of the Haitian people, Jean founded Hope For Them, a foundation dedicated to help resurrect Haiti from the devastating earthquake of 2010.

Jean reflects on how, as a kid, he had to travel a great distance to school from Carrefour to Port-au-Prince to receive a quality education. "I would have to get up at five in the morning, and I wouldn't be back until eight or nine in the evening," he said. Since that time all the existing schools available in Carrefour were destroyed in the earthquake. Jean realized he needed to give the children of Carrefour the opportunity to learn and become self sufficient as individuals and as a community. He set as his goal to create a local school, where he could oversee the process and also involve the community assuring they are active and involved, working together for the future. "People need to understand the influence and impact Haitians have had on this globe," Jean said, and in addition to being the first black republic in the world,

Jean emphasized that he does not want Haiti to remain a "donor state," but to achieve a sustainable economy.

Bill Clinton" Don't ever lose hope. I want to thank you for your courage and enthusiasm for your devotion to helping others". ref(the Artists for Haiti dinner on September 23, 2011 in New York City)

Mike is organizing a large-scale benefit concert at Carnegie Hall the summer of 2012 to benefit Hands for Haiti.
