  • (1888PressRelease) January 13, 2011 - The Innovation Prize recognises VIGISCAN's quality. VIGISCAN has already been honoured by American magazine NASA Tech Briefs, which awarded HGH Infrared the 2009 Product of the Year prize for this original concept.

VIGISCAN was developed in order to address new security requirements. This complete system, which features infrared panoramic vision, combines viewing, detection and tracking software. With its simple and intuitive interface, the software offers 360°, day-and-night coverage, while simultaneously tracking an unlimited number of sea, aerial or land-based targets.

Thanks to top-of-the-range infrared technology, the camera boasts high-thermal sensitivity and a very long detection range. VIGISCAN scans in real time thanks to its high-speed rotating head, which completes one revolution every two seconds. Operational night and day, the system uses advanced technologies to deliver a high-quality image despite its compactness. The ultra-wide panoramic field of view and constant control guarantee detection of any event within a very extensive range in difficult conditions affected by, for instance, fog, smoke or total darkness.

VIGISCAN was initially designed to address surveillance issues for sensitive industrial sites, airports, borders, and military bases. VIGISCAN has been further improved. The new long-range focusing version can scan very extensive areas.

The device can be used for land-based maritime applications, such as the surveillance of ports and coastlines, and also for on-board applications on ships thanks to a gyro-stabilized platform. VIGISCAN can be used as a night-time navigation tool or collision-prevention aid. This effective watchman can report any attack, be it by pirates or terrorists, on a ship or offshore oil rig. VIGISCAN is a passive and undetectable optical radar, and can detect the presence of a man at a distance of 3km, a rubber dinghy at 6km, and a tanker at 20km.

HGH Infrared Systems has successfully launched a number of products dedicated to niche applications in the fast-growing infrared-technologies market. HGH, which is already well-established in several parts of the world, is committed to innovation. This commitment preserves its position as a technological leader.
