  • (1888PressRelease) August 10, 2011 - The Harris XG-75 provides multiple operating modes ranging from Analog Conventional to Project 25 (P25) Phase 2 Digital Trunking. The radio supports the full range of P25 digital trunking features, including clear and encrypted group calls, priority scanning, preemptive emergency calls, late-call entry and dynamic, over-the-air reconfiguration. Available in UHF, VHF and 700/800 models, the XG-75 is ideal for public safety agencies operating on VHF and UHF frequencies that need to upgrade their equipment due to the FCC narrowband mandate.

Equipped with Harris' active noise-canceling algorithm, the XG-75 improves the clarity of both analog and digital calls in high-noise environments. The radio also features an enlarged speaker chamber and 3.8W maximum audio output, resulting in clear, loud audio levels. The XG-75 features an AMBE +2 Version 1.6 vocoder for exceptional voice quality and the ability to send and receive dual-tone multi-frequency (DTMF) tones over digital P25 networks. Rugged, compact and powerful, the XG-75 can withstand challenging environments, including long-term immersion in water. It is available in black and grey or black and high-visibility yellow casing.

"The Harris XG-75 portable radio is a premier single band radio solution for public safety agencies that require reliable, economical multi-mode communications," said George Helm, vice president, Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications. "The addition of the XG-75 to our radio family demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the emerging and varied needs of mission-critical radio users worldwide."
