  • (1888PressRelease) April 04, 2017 - Bangalore : iRAP, a globally registered charity, is dedicated to preventing the number of road deaths that occur every day worldwide. The Star Rating for Schools mobile app uses road inspection data which is aimed at measuring and determining the level of safety for school kids to be used by parents and teachers.

The project has been funded by FedEx to prevent road accidents, which are one of the leading causes of fatality and injury amongst school-age children worldwide. Five-star roads are the safest while one-star roads are the least safe. Importantly, Star Ratings can be completed without reference to detailed crash data, which is often unavailable in low-income and middle-income countries.

GoodWorkLabs that has experience of developing apps for kids, had developed the Sesame Street game for Android and web which is fun to play but also has some serious messages about using resources carefully and sensibly.

"Every child has a right to an education. We share a unified vision of a world where all children can travel safely to and from school. We feel very privileged that GoodWorkLabs has been chosen to deliver this vital application. We look forward to make this vision a reality along with iRAP." expressed Sonia Sharma, Founder and MD at GoodWorkLabs.

"Over the last few months we've looked at many app and product developers around the world. We think that GoodWorkLabs has just the right mix of experience to help us create a truly dynamic tool that is going to deliver great results." says, James Bradford, iRAP Global Product Director.

GoodWorkLab's impressive track record on delivering dynamic mapping functionality helped make iRAP choose them as partners. Their LetEmbrace app is a social media platform that lets women rate the safety of public areas.

"This sort of highly detailed and bespoke interactivity with an environment is exactly what is expected to achieve with the Star Rating for Schools app. We're really excited about partnering with GoodWorkLabs. It's going to be a challenge and an adventure to create this app but we think we're going to make a great team!" added James.

Vishwas Mudagal, CEO and Co-Founder at GoodWorkLabs emphasises on the practical purpose for developing an app to help save kids' lives around the world. "We pride ourselves on our wide ranging experience in games development. In fact, gamers are among the most demanding of app users, requiring the highest levels of interactivity and responsiveness in data heavy applications and are continually pushing for improved performance. The Star Rating for Schools app will be intuitive, swift, reliable and secure. It would work on tablets and at different band widths, delivering great performance each time. In practical terms, the more data that is collected and the more schools surveyed, the more kids' lives are going to be saved. I am delighted that iRAP has chosen to partner with GoodWorkLabs to develop the Star Rating for Schools app."

GoodWorkLabs has worked with clients worldwide to deliver more than 100 apps and have been proud winners of multiple awards. Their expertise comes in helping the project in every step of the process from concept, through to development, launch and continuous ongoing improvement of the product.
Having already worked with a range of education and health providers, the partners have expressed utmost excitement at the way the Star Rating for Schools app can have such a positive impact on both the education and health sectors. The app is due to launch in early 2017.
