The living conditions were a testament to survival: the structure was entirely unfinished, shielded only by a worn-out tarpaulin roof. When the rain started falling, there was no time to rest, Samuel Vibe reflects. We had to scramble for rubber buckets and plastic containers just to catch the water leaking through the roof. It was a daily battle against the elements, but it kept my fire burning.

While the journey is far from over and the music industry remains a steep climb, Samuel Vibe has officially closed the chapter on the uncompleted plank houses of Okun Ajah. Currently based in Ogombo, squadding and collaborating within a more stable environment, the physical transformation is clear.
