  • (1888PressRelease) January 23, 2012 - As Switzerland's biggest retailer, Migros also runs 180 Migros restaurants. "With Swisscom's WLAN hotspots, we will be offering our guests an additional service," says Hans-Peter Oettli, Head of Migros Gastronomy. "Our guests will receive an SMS containing the access code that will allow them to surf the Internet simply and wirelessly from their laptop or smartphone." The access code will be delivered in a paperless format, thereby saving Migros time, effort and costs.

By offering public wireless Internet access, Migros restaurants will increase the appeal of their establishments. During their stay guests will be able to connect their WLAN-enabled device to the Internet free of charge, at speeds of up to 20 Mbps. Swisscom's hotspot solution offers Migros a high-speed, wireless WLAN network that is easy for guests to access. Swisscom will take care of its operation and maintenance.

Anyone who connects to the MOBILE_MIGROS_RESTAURANT network while in a Migros restaurant can surf for two hours free of charge. As at all other hotspots, the Migros restaurants offer unlimited connection options for prepaid and Swisscom subscription customers, simply and securely.
