  • Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) December 15, 2010 - Former NFL player turn CEO, Mr. Robert Mackey of J. Zemar Premium Brand clothing, decided to go to Lake Villa, IL Thursday, December 9th to visit the young men of One Hope United. Started in 1895 as a christian baptist orphanage, One Hope United is dedicated to protecting children and strengthening families .

With most of the young men coming from broken homes, Robert shared his story of the trials and tribulations that he faced on his journey. Providing the children with hope, empowerment and motivations, Mr. Mackey encouraged the young men to listen to those who love them whether it be a parent, coach or friend.

"If you do anything for money you will not have it for long," said Robert as he answered questions from the very articulate and goal oriented young men. 95% of the young men had goals to got to college. Many of the young men also had goals to one day having a family of their own and do things the way they should be done. The young men ranging from ages 12 - 17, had goals ranging from working in construction to becoming an athlete to becoming a graphic designer. One young man stated, "there are people much worse off than I am," and wants to open a daycare so he can help others.

Mr. Mackey showed the young men that regardless of where they may have come from, they are in control of their own future and can do or become whatever they want. He emphasized how important goal setting, persistence and patients is when accomplishing goals. As Mr. Robert Mackey left the estate in Lake Villa in the snow and blistering cold a sense of warmth and empowerment were left with the young men.
