  • Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) September 16, 2014 - Carrie and Richard Blackaby break the mold of status quo parenting by encouraging new practices that reject conventional wisdom. The Blackaby's book, Customized Parenting in a Trending World debuts summer 2014.

Customized Parenting in a Trending World, a father - daughter duo, offers informative content from both sides of the gamut. It challenges social normality and encourages customized parenting that helps children thrive. Carrie's charming childhood stories accompanied by Richard's insightful wisdom make for an entertaining, yet informative read.

"It's ironic that even while we urge children to resist peer pressure at school, we parents unquestioningly buy into what 'all the other parents are doing,' said Lisa Blackaby, wife of Richard Blackaby whose short excerpts of wisdom appear in the book as Notes from Mom.

Seeing as children are our future, it's imperative that parents raise them right and in a manner that is tailored to their individual personality and character. Why fall into the routine of folly public opinion when better methods are available? The Blackaby's offer an alternative to parenting that worked for them and might just work for other kids too.

"It was with a fair measure of skepticism that I began reading this book, muttering to myself, 'Oh no, not another book on raising perfect kids!' But I was greatly surprised and gratified to see that this book was anything but. The Blackaby's have shared their experiences from a two-generational perspective and I found their advice thoughtful, biblical and challenging," said Jim Keller, Licensed Mental Health Counselor and author of The Upside Down Marriage.

Dr. Richard Blackaby has served as the president of Blackaby Ministries International since July 2006. Richard is the oldest child of Henry and Marilynn Blackaby. He has been married to Lisa since 1983. Richard and Lisa reside in Greenville, South Carolina.

Carrie Blackaby, Richards daughter, earned her BA in English from North Greenville University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and was awarded the Veda B. Sprouse award for the most outstanding English student. She is currently working on an MFA in Creative Writing from Converse College and a M.Div. in Christian Apologetics from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
