    In celebration of February as Eating Disorders Awareness Week (February 21-26, 2011) the Eating Disorders Recovery Support (EDRS) presents two days of educational and experiential programs and a FREE one-woman show From the Inside Out- Finding My InnerLight for professionals as well as the general public The event takes places February 4 - February 5 and will be held at the Lucchesi Community Center located at 320 North McDowell Boulevard in Petaluma.

    This fundraiser provides statewide treatment scholarships. Last year almost 10 scholarships were awarded. "We hope to double that amount this year," said Haleh Kashani, Ph.D., EDRS President. EDRS is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting community awareness of eating disorders, professional education and collaboration, with the goal of supporting individuals and families on their path to healing and recovery from an eating disorder.

    February 4: Workshop topics explore the neuroscience of eating disorders, clinical implications, developmental approaches and self-injurious behaviors. Spiritual and symbolic meanings, early life trauma and medical complications will also be discussed.

    Guest speakers include Carolyn Costin, MA, MED, MFT, Dr. Ovidio Bermudez, Dr. Pam Carlton, Kara Fitzpatrick, PhD Barbara Birsinger, ThD, MPH, RD, and Michelle Minero, MFT, EDRS Founder. Special guest: Adrienne Ressler, LMSW (President of International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals Adrienne Ressler, LMSW From the Inside Out - Finding My Inner Light: Following reception, a one-woman show presented by Lindsey Wert, MTFI. This donation only show is at 5:30 pm, February 4.

    February 5: Workshop topics range from intuitive living to the role of nutrition to body hatred, pilates, inner nourishment and family roles in recovery. Michael Berrett, Ph.D., Ronnie Benjamin, Haleh Kashani, MPH, RD, and Elayne Doughty, MFT. Other presenters include Bridget Whitlow, MFT, Jennifer Michanoski and Audrey Bell, MA.

    Post-Conference: Feb. 6, off site. A Multidimensional Arts Project, Cat Meehan, 8:30-5.

    Conference scholarships are available and no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
