  • Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) December 21, 2010 - LearnLax Academy, Florida's premier lacrosse development school, announces the schedule for its 2010 Winter Lax Camp, preparing athletes for the upcoming spring season.

Beginning on December 28th, the beautiful campus of Lynn University* in Boca Raton, FL, will be the site for this three day camp. Players will arrive at 10am for a morning warm-up and stretch before heading straight into stations teaching them the nuances of each position. After lunch and some pool time, athletes will head back to the field for afternoon sessions focusing on team concepts and scrimmages, which wrap up at 4pm.

As a very special feature of this year's camp, C.W. Post head coach John Jez, who was recently added to the camp's coaching roster, will conduct a seminar on the college recruiting process, recruiting rules and techniques for marketing a player to college coaches. Coach Jez's experience as head coach of back to back NCAA Division II champions, his designation as D-II coach of the year, and his participation on the Team USA coaching staff, gives him a unique perspective that will prove invaluable to each player who attends this session. The seminar will be held on December 28th.

The camp staff will be made up of current and former professional players, NCAA players and coaches, as well as local coaches. Tony Lowe, the 2003 NCAA Division I goal scoring champion, founder of both the Florida Snipers and LearnLax Academy, and camp director for Nike during the offseason, will design the offensive camp curriculum. Rich Mullen, whose experience includes team captain and defensive coordinator for C.W. Post, professional play for the New York Saints of the Major Indoor Lacrosse League, and coaching duties for the Delray Riptide and Florida Snipers, will design the defensive camp curriculum.

The LearnLax 2010 Winter Camp is for boys ages 8-18. The cost of the camp is $350, which includes lunch. Payments may be made online using the following URL: http://www.LearnLaxAcademy.com/winter.
