  • (1888PressRelease) May 05, 2011 - Huntington Station, NY - Divine Brine Foods, headquartered in Long Island is proud to be served with Critic's Pick honor from TimeOut New York Magazine.

DBF is the island's most innovative new specialty food company that believes in promoting regional produce. The recently dubbed "pickling outfit" has received brilliant reviews with this most interesting creation "beet caviar".

Queens native Robert Schaefer, a former chef and founder of Divine Brine Foods commented "I was inspired by my Ukrainian friends who minced their beet slaw so finely it resembled fish eggs." Together, the two vegetables (beets and horseradish from upstate New York) make an appealingly odd couple.

"We're super excited about receiving the Critic's Pick from TimeOut New York Magazine"

The company has been in business for only one year and has been successful launching ten products to the marketplace. DBF products have no preservatives, artificial flavors, or colors. All products are gluten, dairy, and wheat-free.

    About Divine Brine Foods
Chef Robert Schaefer founded Divine Brine Foods on one simple principle: "We have to get back to the garden". After attending Hunter College, Chef Robert began his career as an apprentice and later a full time position at the 21 Club in New York City. Following his passion, he continued his chef training at The Culinary Institute of America. Chef Robert went on to work for notable White House Chef Pierre Chambrin and later Hilton Hotels. He later opened several restaurants around the country including the posh venue Portfolio, located in the Hamptons. After a successful launch of a private catering company, The Next Supper, his clientele list grew with the likes of Bill Cosby, Woody Allen, Frank Sinatra, and President George Bush. Other venues quickly took advantage of his services such as Studio 54, Palladium, Limelight and events such as Liberty Weekend (the relighting of the Statue of Liberty).
