  • Fort Worth-Arlington, TX (1888PressRelease) November 14, 2011 - Two speech contests and workshops on communication, leadership and personal growth will highlight Toastmasters International's District 25 annual Fall Conference, which begins Friday, November 18 and concludes Saturday evening, November 19 at the Sheraton DFW. The conference, with the theme "Let It Shine," is open to the public; District 25 leaders encourage those interested in developing public speaking and leadership skills to attend.

"It's always a lot of fun," said District Governor Diana Patton, DTM. "The gala opens with a parade of club banners and dinner. This year, participants are encouraged to wear something shiny as part of the conference's theme. Members will compete for the best bling in hats, clothes and shoes. The conference ends Saturday evening with a dignitary parade and formal banquet in which we honor those who have earned the highest level of achievement in Toastmasters: the Distinguished Toastmasters award, or DTM."

Conference attendees will include members of the more than 140 clubs in District 25, which encompasses much of North Texas (from Waco to the Red River and Wichita Falls to Dallas). Attendees will benefit from the conference's many educational and social opportunities, including:

A keynote speech by Ron Bland, DTM.
Listening to the region's best speakers compete in the two district speech contests (speech evaluation and humorous speech)
Sessions on personal growth and how to operate successful Toastmasters clubs
    The district awards banquet
Networking opportunities, including a celebration for first-time attendees.

Tickets can be purchased for individual conference events or attendees can register for the entire conference; prices range from $40 to $150.

Toastmasters International promotes development of leadership and public speaking skills in a supportive group environment. Many clubs are open to the public.
