Derr Announces New Arts Projects

  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) February 24, 2011 - David Derr, president of D2 Studios today announced three major projects regarding the arts in the tri-state area. He commented, "This is an extremely busy time for my company and these are initiatives of which I am very proud". Clients include:

    • Arts Council of the Morris Area: D2 Studios Inc. is committed to advancing the arts in NJ and specifically the Morris County area. (Mr. Derr's work is currently on exhibit at ADP World Headquarters in Roseland, NJ). With this in mind the company has entered into an agreement with the Arts Council of the Morris Area to assist in producing marketing materials for its events.

    The first projects will include an upcoming seminar on nonprofit finances by recognized financial planner David Gray, promotional materials for the Celebrate the Arts series, as well as a symposium of multi-disciplinary artists from the Morris County area.

    • Dan May CD Cover Art: Mr. Derr's painting "Dying Breed" will be featured on a new CD by critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Dan May. The new CD is also named "Dying Breed' after the painting that features a still life in red and gray of a 1950s style stainless steel diner. The painting was the jumping off point for the design of the rest of the CD package as well as press and marketing materials.

    This is the third album in a series of highly touted CDs. Mr. May's most recent CD, "The Long Road Home," was produced by GRAMMY-Award-winning producer and engineer Glenn Barratt. It is "a seamless tapestry of unforgettable melodies and clever, engaging lyrics; all delivered in a rich and soulful voice that speaks to both the head and the heart."

    • Masterwork Chorus: The marketing for the final event of Masterwork Chorus' 2010-2011 season is in full swing. The concert will be a full chorus and orchestra performance of Mendelssohn's magnificent oratorio "Elijah". The graphics feature a custom rendering of a fiery steed resplendent against a dramatic black background. The image has also been used throughout the season on the newly designed website.

    Mr. Derr employs a wide cross section of artistic disciplines including traditional and digital painting, mixed media, assemblages and photography. His works have recently been displayed at the European Council of International Schools in Nice, France; and Art Expo in New York City. .

    Mr. Derr has won numerous awards including: the Adobe Digital Imaging Competition, International. Digital Mural Competition and NY Art Director's Club. He has been featured in Gallery and Studio Magazine, Photoshop User, and Digital Fine Arts Magazine as well as numerous online exhibitions and websites.
