Arvedlund was among the first to publicly raise a red flag regarding Madoff's "enviably steady gains" in her 2001 Barron's article, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." The journalist questioned how Madoff's fund continued generating impressive returns despite shifts in market conditions, but did not receive any concrete answers. During the Citrin Cooperman event, Arvedlund provided a revealing look at Madoff's ruinous $65 billion Ponzi scheme, its discovery and ultimately, the man behind it all.
