  • (1888PressRelease) June 22, 2011 - Mumbai: Cinema India Expo, the only Hollywood - Bollywood conference of its kind, will feature the much awaited demonstration of the latest 4K projection, workshop by Oscar winner cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond and presentations by global experts on the Digital Cinema transition including the latest 3D technology.

    Today, movie theaters around the world are on the threshold of a historic transformation from film to digital projection. The conversion of the Indian cinema screens to digital technology is under way at a rapid pace, opening up a potential US$200 million equipment market in India, as per the findings of a market research conducted by Cinema India. The 4K digital projection technology enables theater owners to enhance the quality and flexibility of their presentations to their audiences. A deployment of around 6000 e-cinema screens across India and around 700 DCI (Digital Cinema Initiative) compliant projection (2K) cinema screens installation in India is expected by the end of 2011.
