  • Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) July 11, 2018 - CCE, a leading provider of advanced interoperability technology, has announced new releases of its ODX libraries for 3D CAD interoperability. This is the second major announcement of the year and is packed with significant updates across libraries of almost all major formats.

Consistent with their overall track record of being one of the first to provide support for latest CAD versions, CCE’s ODX libraries were updated to support Creo 5.0, Autodesk Inventor 2019. This is in addition to latest versions of CATIA V5, NX, SolidWorks, and Solid Edge that they already support. The latest round of updates also saw enhancements to PMI support for both read and write libraries. For example, in its SolidWorks write libraries, PMI support was enhanced by allowing the creation of texts for datum features/geometric tolerances and associating views with reference dimensions. PMI support for JT was improved by providing dimension data associated to manufacturing features (Hole/thread) and associated entities of an annotation. Attributes and persistent ID were also among other broad areas of enhancements as part of the recent updates.

“We invest heavily in research & development of our interoperability toolkits. This is the second major announcement for us this year and includes some significant updates. Some of these as always are driven by our customers, while others are purely a result of us staying ahead of the curve and proactively supporting what we believe will be important in the near future,” said CCE’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Vinay Wagle. “The goal is to ensure that leading ISVs who depend on our technology to provide seamless multi-CAD interoperability always have a competitive advantage in the marketplace,” added Vinay.

    About Open Data Exchange (ODX):
Open Data Exchange (ODX) libraries read & write Native CAD data. File formats that are currently supported for ODX include CATIA V4, CATIA V5, CATIA V6, NX, Inventor, SOLIDWORKS, Pro/ENGINEER (PTC Creo®), JT, Solid Edge, Parasolid, IGES, STEP, 3D PDF, VDA, & STL. Applications developed using ODX libraries are independent of CAD. The libraries written in C & C++ are easy to implement & follow software releases via continuous updates. Apart from licensing the library components, we also provide integrations services to integrate our libraries into customer applications. The true benefit of using our ODX libraries is the reduced cost to the user. Our ODX libraries do not require CAD software or licenses, which can be quite costly. ODX gives the user the ability to read & write native CAD files without the cost of ownership associated with the CAD system.
