Caterina's Club Red Carpet Gala Fundraiser Rolls Out Sept 16 at Marconi Automotive Museum

  • Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) September 11, 2018 - All engines will be revved up as Sir Bruno Serato hosts his 13th annual Red Carpet Gala fundraiser for Caterina’s Club at the Marconi Automotive Museum (1302 Industrial Drive, Tustin) on Sunday, September 16 starting at 5 p.m. In addition to feeding 4,000 children in need each night, the nonprofit helps place families living in squalid motel conditions into cleaner and safer environments. Caterina’s Club also partners with the Anaheim School District to run the Hospitality Program that seeks to divert high school students from gangs and other bad influences by teaching them about the food, hospitality and service industries.

    This year’s gala will honor longtime Caterina’s Club supporters: The Most Reverend Kevin W. Vann, Bishop of Orange who leads the Diocese of Orange, the 10th largest Diocese in the country and the second-largest west of the Mississippi. Patrick and Jolynn Mahoney: Pat Mahoney is a pioneer in the municipal tree maintenance industry. He started West Coast Arborists in 1972, his business has grown into the largest municipal tree care provider in the Western United States. Jolynn Mahoney is a retired Private Detective, who was a pioneer in her own right, as one of the first female-owned, Private Investigation Agencies, Benn & Associates, in California. Bobbie Stovall and her husband, Jim are owners and operators of Stovall's Best Westerns of Anaheim. In 1980, they purchased a colonial style home in Anaheim. They renovated and remodeled the historical landmark and operated it as a fine dining restaurant, before selling the property to Bruno Serato. Carolyn Zarate-Ramsey, Secretary and Treasurer of First American Companies has helped children get scholarships. Her zeal for life is an inspiration to all. She believes that the success of the future belongs to the children we help today. She has been involved as a Board of Director of the Red Cross, involved with Rotary, YMCA, Capitol Theater, Humane Society, Yakima Chamber of Commerce, and is an active board member of Caterina's Club.

    The evening will start with a cocktail reception during which guests may view Dick Marconi’s multi-million-dollar car collection while bidding on silent auction items. Next, a multi-course dinner accompanied by fine wines will be served while the evening’s honorees are recognized then dessert will be served followed by a performance by America’s Got Talent Prince Poppycock

    Caterina’s Club has extended its reach beyond Southern California to include programs in Chicago, New York, Texas, Mexico and Italy. In addition, his Welcome Home Program has already placed more than 180 families into safer, cleaner environments and its Hospitality Academy has helped nearly 130 students receive hands-on experience and even paid internships in restaurants, hotels and catering operations as they consider careers in the field following graduation.

    For his humanitarian work, Serato has earned international publicity including profiles in People Magazine, “CBS Evening News” and newspapers and magazines the world over. Among his many honors is being named a CNN Hero, being knighted by the Italian government, receiving a papal blessing from Pope Francis, recipient of the prestigious Ellis Island Award, getting a humanitarian award on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, being honored by the Good News Foundation and receiving numerous proclamations, Man of the Year awards and other forms of recognition -- all of which he accepts to generate public awareness of the needs of our most vulnerable population – our children.
