  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) September 15, 2010 - Vincient A. Spears, CEO of Hope and Joy: Family, Employee and Adoption, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry.

    Spears, who also works in education development for Morehead School for the Blind, leads a faith-based non-profit company that provides human services for special needs children and families, foster care children and parents, kin care children, low income, and veteran families.

    As CEO, Spears main priority is to help special need children by acting as a parent liaison. After learning that his older adoptive daughter had Fetal Alcohol Effect (FAE) in 2000, his inspiration to found the non-profit was imperative. "I searched and searched for a program for her so that she could grow and be somewhat a healthy child, but there were no programs out there," he said. The non-profit has since been up and running for ten years running, since 2000. In the future, he hopes to teach new technology to special needs students.

    In addition to his non-profit agency, Spears is also promoting his retail website that sells everyday products to the public, with everything from candles and collectables, to houseware and kitchen products and movies.

    Spears holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice Cum Laude from North Carolina Central University and a JD from Kensington University. He is currently pursuing his Master's in Education from Strayer University. He is has certifications and is educated in FAS/FAE, Basic Computer Programming, MAPP for foster and adoptive parent training and interact. He spent three years in the US Army as a medical specialist from 1980-83. He volunteers his time at his local American Legion, Family Networking of Wake County, Hope and Joy, and Body of Christ Church. Vincient also enjoys playing tennis, reading, and partaking in local community services.
