  • Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News, VA-NC (1888PressRelease) June 16, 2011 - John R. Giattino, Chief Operating Officer for Navy Lodge Program, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes John R. Giattino's commitment to excellence in Hospitality.

Giattino, who holds an MBA from St. Regis University, began working in the industry in 1976 with the Walt Disney World company. In 1982, he was offered a hotel management opportunity as a night manager, eventually making his way up to director of housekeeping where he spent the next five years.

Currently, Giattino serves as COO for Navy Lodge Program, overseeing all operations, marketing, hiring, training and management development. He supervises the quality assurance program and internal financial audits as well as the inspection team, plus three regional managers who oversee forty-one general managers at the hotels all around the world, including the US, Europe, Japan and the Caribbean. He is also responsible for revenue generation and profit retention at all forty-one locations.

"I am an avid team builder and management development specialist with a keen eye for detail," Giattino said about his long and successful career in the business. "I have the creativity and forward thinking to guide the marketing and big picture aspects of the business," he added.

Aspiring to grow into a CEO position within the organization or even for a private sector lodging organization if the opportunity arises, Giattino continues to strive to be the best in his current role.

Giattino is a certified hotel administrator. He is a member of the American Hotel Lodging Association. He has been recognized by the Certification Committee of the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute for achieving twenty-five years as a certified hotel administrator, where he had to recertify every five years in an effort to show continued professional development. Now with a lifetime CHA designation, he does not have to certify anymore.
