  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) July 29, 2011 - Dianne Collins, Managing Member/Director for Collins Survey Consulting, LLC, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Dianne Collins's commitment to excellence in Surveying and Mapping.

    Collins, who became interested in her field during her high school years after taking a mechanical drafting class and obtaining a part-time job for a small land surveying firm, has been working in the same industry for almost forty years now, since 1971.

    Currently, Collins oversees all the administrative duties of her business as owner and senior professional, including payroll and benefits. She also handles all the marketing and development of proposals for obtaining work, provides services and production of deliverables, such as Quality Assurance Reviews, Control Surveys, Right of Way Maps, reports, court exhibits and any other professional services associated with land surveying and mapping.

    With experience that spans over twenty-seven years in the private sector, and an additional thirteen years experience as a technical reviewer, district right of way surveyor and documents coordinator for the Florida Department of Transportation, Collins developed many skills throughout her career, enabling her to build the confidence and the experience she needed to venture out on her own.

    "In creating my own firm," Collins said, "I am doing something that no other firm in Florida has attempted, and that is to provide professional services without operating my own field staff. I utilize partnerships with other professional firms for field services which provides for diversity in the services I am able to offer. My staff is comprised of fellow professionals and survey technicians with the same work ethics and skills to provide these services."

    Collins' goals for her firm are to build a reputation of excellence in her industry and to become more profitable, while working hard to keep up with and embrace the technological changes that are currently in play and those that that the future has in store.

    Collins is a member of the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society and the local Tampa Bay and Ridge Chapters where she also served as an officer. She will be serving as president for the Tampa Bay Chapter this upcoming year beginning in August. She is also a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers of Tampa and is president of the West Coast Land Surveyors Association, which is an organization of professional surveying and mapping firms in the Tampa Bay area. She is the recipient of a Dorothy M. Ryan Award from the FDOT during 1991-92 for achieving a significant degree of excellence through accomplishment and in recognition as a good role model by her female peers. Collins also successfully completed the FDOT Leadership Academy in 2002. When Dianne isn't busy working, she enjoys reading and riding her motorcycle.
