  • Fort Worth-Arlington, TX (1888PressRelease) July 07, 2010 - Bruce W. Carson, Product Trainer for Northrop Grummar, has been selected as an Honored Member of the Biltmore Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Bruce W. Carson's commitment to excellence in the aerospace industry.

Carson, who holds two bachelor's degrees, one in business administration and one in accounting, followed by a master's in accounting, has been working in the field for the last twenty years.

After enlisting in the US Coast Guard after high school, Carson completed his training and was rated as an electronics technician. He advanced until he was commissioned as a Chief Warrant Officer, served as an instructor at the Coast Guard Training Center of Governors Island in New York, Officer-In-Charge LORAL Station George Washington, and later as division officer. The skills he learned during this time, he said, prepared him for his success as a courseware developer and instructor on the F-35 Lightening II program.

Currently, Carson develops and delivers training materials for the maintenance of the F-35 Lightening II, which is being developed by Lockheed Martin. As an instructor, he trains personnel that are maintaining the test aircraft being flown at Edwards Air Force Base in California, the Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland and Fort Worth on the many aircraft systems. He also instructs the three-day familiarization course that new personnel attend and also provides technical information and guidance about the aircraft's avionics systems to contractors that are developing graphics and lessons that will be used to train personnel when beginning their careers in the Air Force, Navy and Marines. "Twenty plus years of maintenance experience of advanced electronics systems has prepared me to develop training materials on many types of avionic systems," Carson explained. He also noted that his time as instructor with the Coast Guard, along with his experience as a chief petty officer and warrant officer and his human resources experience all permitted him to develop his necessary and superb training skills he has today.

Carson served as an addictions councilor in the past to those suffering addictions. He's a member of the American Legion and Naval Institute. He has also published three operations manuals. He's won two Achievement Medals from the US Coast Guard for maintaining a signal availability record of 99.98 percent for over six consecutive months during his tenure as officer-in-charge. Carson was also recognized for his leadership during his time with Long Range Aids to Navigation as officer-in-charge for developing solutions to many challenging situations, including the overhaul of the cooling system for the stations high power transmitters. Bruce also volunteers with the American Red Cross in his free time, enjoys bowling, golf and fishing.
