Babson Professor Dhruv Grewal Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award in Pricing

  • Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) July 07, 2012 - The American Marketing Association (AMA) Retail and Pricing Special Interest Group (SIG) has named Babson Professor Dhruv Grewal, the Toyota Chair in Commerce and Electronic Business, winner of its 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award in Pricing. He will be the first recipient of this award.

    Grewal's contributions to the field of pricing permitted him to stand out as a top candidate for the Lifetime Achievement Award. Grewal has produced more than 100 pieces of significant research in his field. He was recently ranked 1st in terms of publications and 3rd in terms of citations for pricing research for the time period 1980-2010 in 20 marketing/business publications. His work in pricing has also influenced a wide range of groups - from academics to managers to public policy makers - and has been published in the following journals: Journal of Retailing, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. Grewal has also co-authored numerous books including Marketing Research (Houghton Mifflin Co., 2004, 2007), Marketing (McGraw-Hill 2008, 2010, 2012), and M Series: Marketing (McGraw-Hill, 2009, 2011, 2013).

    In addition to this award, Grewal has been honored by the AMA with the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award in Retailing, by Fordham University with the 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award in Behavioral Pricing, and by the Academy of Marketing Science with the 2010 Cutco/Vector Distinguished Educator Award. Grewal has also received numerous other awards for his work and for teaching.

    The AMA is one of the largest marketing associations in the world. The AMA Retail and Pricing SIG Lifetime Achievement Award in Pricing serves to recognize outstanding work in the field of pricing.
    The award will be presented at 2012 Summer AMA conference in Chicago on August 18.
