    Animal Friends Rescue Project (AFRP), a Pacific Grove based nonprofit organization dedicated to finding good permanent homes for dogs and cats, will hold Dogtoberfest, a fun filled event for people and their dogs featuring fabulous food, wine, beer, music and a doggie costume contest, on Sunday, October 16th from 1:30pm-3:30pm at Tarpy's Roadhouse located at 2999 Monterey Salinas Hwy in Monterey.

    AFRP relies on support from the community to rescue and adopt out over 1,500 homeless cats and dogs each year. This year, AFRP is trying to raise $5000 for the animals at Dogtoberfest at Tarpy's Roadhouse.

    Guest judges will determine a winner for the Howl-O-Ween doggie costume contest and local television personalities will be there to emcee. The event will feature delicious food provided by Tarpy's roadhouse including gourmet salads, cheeses, appetizers, BBQ chicken, Ventana Vineyards wine and Sierra Nevada beer. AFRP will also hold a raffle featuring winners throughout Dogtoberfest. Event sponsors include Tarpy's Roadhouse, Ventana Vineyards and Sierra Nevada.

    AFRP is dedicated to finding good, permanent homes for stray, abandoned, injured and abused cats and dog from our local shelters. AFRP relies on support from the community to rescue and adopt out over 1,500 homeless cats and dogs each year. Since 1998, they have placed over 16,000 cats and dogs into loving new homes.
