Alliance University Inaugurates The Alliance College Of Engineering And Design
Alliance University inaugurated the Alliance College of Engineering and Design-a new academic unit of the University, on September 6, 2012, at its Central Campus.
- (1888PressRelease) September 26, 2012 - The College was inaugurated by Dr. Anne Mary Fernandez-Dean, Alliance College of Engineering and Design, with other senior university administrators in attendance. The Alliance College of Engineering and Design, offers a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) degree in seven disciplines of engineering viz., Aerospace, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Information Science and Mechanical Engineering.
Dr. Anne Mary Fernandez in her inaugural address to the students of the College highlighted the role of universities as the prime drivers of the knowledge society, and which offer solutions-both engineering and technological-to the challenges facing human communities and society today: technology obsolescence, poverty and widespread deprivation, climate change and environmental degradation as well as pioneering new advances in renewable energy sources and energy conservation.
The Dean of the College also articulated the focus of engineering education at the Alliance College of Engineering and Design, which apart from pursuing excellence in all its myriad forms also fosters the creation of new knowledge and innovation to address rapid technological obsolescence, promote the integrated use of convergent technology and well as other carefully crafted solutions related to moderating the effects of climate change on the ecology and environment.
