ACS showcased its wide range of smart card and reader products in the exhibition and joined the Health & e-service conference where ACS Sales Director, Mr. Gilbert Leung, delivered a speech on the company's behalf.

    CARTES in Asia 2011 is the second edition of the regional exhibition in Asia Pacific. Organized by the Comexposium Group, the aim of the event is to gather key players in the smart card and digital security industry and provide them with a platform to display their latest innovations in the field. This year, 120 exhibitors and 3,000 visitors from 61 countries graced the three-day affair-an 8% increase from last year's attendee turnout (Source: CARTES in Asia). As one of the exhibitors, ACS showcased its latest offerings in smart card technology, including its newly launched Dynamic Password Generators for the e-banking sector, APG8201 and APG8202, and Smart Card Readers with Fingerprint Sensors, AET62 NFC Fingerprint Reader and AET65 Smart Card Fingerprint Reader, for multi-factor authentication in highly secure applications.

    Meanwhile, the congress session on Health & e-service welcomed the presentation of ACS Sales Director, Mr. Gilbert Leung, on the role of smart card technology in healthcare systems. With the topic, "How do Smart Card Technologies leverage with worldwide e-Healthcare systems?" Gilbert's presentation explored the current state of e-healthcare systems and discussed the advantages of applying smart card technology on existing and future e-healthcare infrastructures. He emphasized the importance of adapting smart card-based healthcare systems to conform to local requirements, citing the differences in smart card adaptation between countries like Taiwan, Austria, Germany and Hong Kong. Gilbert concluded his presentation by enumerating the benefits of adopting smart card-based e-health networks, which not only impact administrative areas by way of reduced costs, streamlined administration and improved communication networks and information sharing, but also provide healthcare recipients with increased protection from security breaches and fraudulent acts.
