  • (1888PressRelease) February 16, 2012 - Women continue to fall behind men in nearly every category related to finances - from investment practices, to savings, to salaries. But, Women's Money Week aims to close these gaps by encouraging women to speak about about money, take control of their finances, and reshape their financial futures. Women's Money Week is a new event taking place March 5th - 11th, 2012. It coincides with International Women's Day. Women's Money Week will raise awareness for important money-related issues impacting women.

During Women's Money Week, women personal finance writers and bloggers are joining together to share experiences, ideas, and information that will help women speak up about money, take control of their finances, and reshape their financial futures. Women's Money Week will feature seven personal finance topics (one per day) and participants will contribute their knowledge and experiences on that topic as it uniquely relates to women. The daily topics are: Entrepreneurship, Relationships and Money, Saving and Investing, Budgeting, Money in Your 20's/30's/40's/50's/Retirement, Debt, and Goals/Taking Action.

Womensmoneyweek.com will host articles and writers will also be writing on their own platforms. Over 70 blogs are already signed up to participate including Money Crashers, Girls Just Wanna Have Funds, and Gail Vaz-Oxlade (host of TV show "Til Debt Do Us Part").

Women's Money Week will kick off with a mega-product sale called the "Launch Yourself Project" featuring over $1400 worth of products written by women for sale for only $97. The theme of the Launch Yourself Project is "Earn More Money. Pursue Your Passion. Live Your Life." The products are authored exclusively by women and they help women become entrepreneurs, improve their jobs, and reclaim their lives. Twenty-five percent (25%) of profits will be donated to Women for Women International and Global Fund for Women.

Women's Money Week will also be hosting daily $teals. These daily deals will offer Women's Money Week participants and readers the opportunity to get an amazing start on something related to that day's topic. For example, on Investing Day, Zecco will be making a special signup offer available to participants. And on budgeting day, You Need a Budget will offer a special.

Writers for Women's Money Week include: Jackie Beck, Alicia Peiffer, Karen Bryan, Miranda Marquit, Anna Platz, Jessica Streit, Kristia Ludwick, Renae Chiovaro, Athena Valentine, and Ginger Dean.
