  • (1888PressRelease) February 08, 2010 - KENSINGTON, Conn - A new video demonstrating an easy chocolate-making technique will have even novice bakers and chocolatiers creating desserts that look like they came straight out of a professional pastry chef's kitchen.

Sandra Lira, owner/designer of Zanda Panda Specialty Bakeware, states, "You can already make so many beautiful desserts and arts and crafts with the Kaleidoscope Collection Molds using only three simple techniques: painting, pressing or pouring. This new video demonstrates a fourth technique for 'pulling' chocolate into the mold."

The effect is stunning and also extremely easy to do. It's as simple as pulling one color of melted chocolate across the face of the mold with a silicone spatula, chilling, and then adding a second color for the background.

"Using the spatula to pull the first layer of chocolate across the mold fills in details, such as the hearts, butterflies, scrollwork and flowers," Lira explains. "Adding the second layer fills in the rest." The result is a multi-colored confectionary work of art that can be used to top a cake, cheesecake, or even brownies for instant elegance.

Lira continues, "The reason that this technique works so well with the Kaleidoscope Heart and Butterfly molds is because the bottom of the molds are completely flat. When working on a flat, stable base, there is no 'bounce-back' when brushing or pulling in chocolate." The bases of the silicone molds are thick yet also very flexible which makes it very easy to peel the mold from your chocolate creation.

"These molds were designed for fun and creativity," Lira adds. "Not only can they be used for chocolate, they can also be used for traditional baking of cookies, pies and breads, to mold marzipan, fudge, fondant, edible clay and No-Bake Backwards Cakes™ and to create arts and crafts such as cast paper, polymer clay jewelry and handmade soaps"

The designs are as versatile as the molds and can be used to create desserts for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, birthdays, intimate weddings, afternoon teas and for spring or summer entertaining.
