  • Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) February 16, 2011 - Zov's Premier Catering & Special Events has been selected as one of only 5 caterers endorsed by the Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Museum to offer its services for onsite events including large formal dinners, corporate events, wedding receptions and fundraisers. Zov, a noted chef and author of 2 cookbooks, began her career as a caterer on a much smaller scale nearly 30 years ago. The catering business, which is overseen by her son Armen Karamardian, vice president of operations for the family enterprise, regularly caters large-scale events with some accommodating as many as 5,000 guests.

According to Carrie Biddle, who oversees catering events for the Nixon Library, Zov's Premier Catering & Special Events was selected as based on a number of criteria including its legendary food, incomparable service, and exquisite event planning.

"Since 1987, Zov and her various enterprises have earned high praise in the industry and Zov, herself, is truly an institution in the ever-evolving culinary world of Orange County," said Biddle. "We are delighted to welcome Zov's Catering among our handful of exclusive caterers and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship."

After undertaking a small catering company from her home in the early 1980s, Zov founded her landmark restaurant, Zov's Bistro, in Tustin in 1987. Her unique approach, which blends contemporary cuisine with Eastern Mediterranean influences, has been frequently honored by local and national critics. Over the years, the restaurant expanded into what is now a 12,000-sqare-foot space encompassing the bakery, a luxurious private dining/banquet space, cooking classes and a busy catering division.

In recent years, Zov opened two more restaurants known as Zov's Neighborhood Cafés & Bars with locations in Newport Coast and Irvine. This concept blends the casual side of the Cafe while offering some of the signature dishes from the Bistro. They boast a warm, upscale and inviting atmosphere and are open lunch and dinner with brunch on weekends.

The Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Museum is known for its replica of the historic White House East Room for large-scale affairs, the First Lady's Rose Garden ideal for receptions and America's Grand Ballroom, which is best suited for candlelight dining and dancing beneath magnificent crystal chandeliers, surrounded by golden silk draperies and imported marble fireplaces.
