  • (1888PressRelease) June 05, 2012 - Launching on June 12, 2012 as part of YouTube's original programming initiative, the YOMYOMF Network will offer a mix of scripted and unscripted content that redefines how contemporary Asian American culture translates to the screen. Presenting high-quality and innovative cross-platform programming, YOMYOMF features YouTube's top performers and Hollywood talent across all genres including comedy, drama, competition, animation, sports, horror, and music... with more to come next season.

Inspired by the blog, YouOffendMeYouOffendMyFamily, from film director Justin Lin ("Fast & the Furious" franchise), with collaborations by top YouTube personalities Ryan Higa, KevJumba, and Chester See, and shows boasting star power the likes of Jeremy Lin (NY Nicks), the Russo Brothers ("Arrested Development"), Far East Movement ("Like a G6"), Practical Pictures ("Final Destination"), Jessica Alba, and Danny Pudi ("Community"), the network encompasses the viewing desires of all ages, genders, and races.

"YOMYOMF was started so creative and interesting individuals could come together to share their point-of-views in an honest and entertaining way," says Justin Lin. "Our new channel is the natural evolution of that philosophy and I look forward to working with new and old friends who share that sensibility."

The YOMYOMF Network is founded by entertainment, technology and web video veterans including Lin, Ryan Higa, Kevin Wu, Abdul Khan, Philip W. Chung, and Chester See. Lin will serve as the channel's Creative Head while the day-to-day operations will be managed by Philip W. Chung (who will oversee the creative content) and Abdul Khan (who will oversee the business affairs). Other members of the management team include producers Cash Warren, NBA star Baron Davis, Sal Gatdula and the Hawaii International Film Festival's Anderson Le.

On June 12th, the YOMYOMF Network will launch with the premiere of 3 new series:

    1) INTERNET ICON: Reality Challenge Contest
Andy Fickman's Oops Doughnuts and Bobby Smith's Ashore Entertainment have teamed with YOMYOMF in search of the next "Internet Icon." Ryan Higa, one of YouTube's biggest stars with over 1 billion video views and over 5 million subscribers, will judge along with Christine Lakin ("Step By Step") and there will be rotating guest judges for each show. YouTube personality and musician, Chester See, with over 350,000 songs sold on iTunes, will host the show. Contestants will compete in a series of challenges designed to highlight their creativity and filmmaking skills in an effort to become the next big internet star.

    2) KEV JUMBA TAKES ALL: Reality Competition
YouTube sensation KevJumba fearlessly duels Hollywood celebrities to different, wacky, and hilarious competitions such as taking the SAT's with Felicia Day ("The Guild") and pole dancing with Harry Shum Jr ("Glee").

    3) ACTING FOR ACTION: Comedy
Acting for Action is a comedy series revolving around a self-consumed ego maniac actor played by Sung Kang (Han from the "Fast & Furious" films). Kang lives in a delusional world where he assumes all revolves around him and his 'Awesomeness.' In each episode a guest is introduced to go through an acting lesson that Sung Kang claims is essential for 'action' films. However, everything he instructs is ridiculous and eventually goes back to his self-worship and his continual referencing of his role as Han from the "Fast & Furious" action series. Guests include Ryan Higa, Kevin Wu, Chester See, Clara C and Just Kidding Films.

    Future programming will include:

    4) THE 117: Sci-Fi
Starring Lance Reddick ("Fringe"), THE 117 is a kinetic thriller with state of the art effects about humanoid robot drones that have become part of everyday warfare and what happens when one of the robots rebel.

    5) BFF: Comedy
Jessica, Courtney, Betsey, and Sam are bad girls with good grades. They live by a simple code: to destroy everything that sucks - by ANY means necessary. This is a high school comedy from the Russo Bros ("Community" & "Arrested Development").

    6) GUYS' BOOK CLUB: Comedy
This comedy series centers around four guys (Danny Pudi, Parvesh Cheena, Chris Marrs, and Thomas Fowler) doing what guys don't do: reading books and getting together to discuss them over hors d'oeuvres. Yet since becoming adults, or resisting that fact, this four-pack of buddies are seeking to broaden their minds- to try something new- by organizing a book club. To their surprise, their harmless reading soon explodes into unlikely action adventures. With each meeting of the book club comes an unexpected (and surprisingly thematic) turn, sending our well-read heroes into a genre-bending fight for their lives. Not everyone will survive.

    7) SAF SEEKING: Talk Show
A live streamed Google+ hang out discussion between a rotating group of Single Asian Females from all different backgrounds regarding lifestyle, sex, relationships and the modern woman.
