  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) August 19, 2010 - The innovative music group, X: THC has confirmed an exclusive live performance of the live music and film multimedia experience, X: The Human Condition, to benefit The Jed Foundation and AFSP at The Tank Theater, NYC on Thursday, September 16 at 9:30 pm.

With the music industry searching for inspiration, X: THC has taken it upon themselves to blaze a new trail. The band's hauntingly mysterious live performance is accompanied by X: THC's original film, X: The Human Condition, whose wistful and phantasmagorical imagery creates an inspiring and unforgettable experience. Citing Tim Burton, Michel Gondry, Darren Aronofsky, Jean Cocteau, and The Brothers Grimm as major influences, X: THC's visual companion to the performance is a surrealistic, psychological trip inside the human subconscious.

Musically, X: THC combines chilled, shattered beats, soulful vibery, and edgy indie rock songwriting to create a lush, ambient soundscape. The songs conjure shades of new wave, electronica, and post-punk -yet they weave a seductive, hypnotic sound all their own. Just released several months ago, X: THC's music can currently be heard onboard Continental Airlines, Aircalin Airlines, on worldwide online radio, and over 100 terrestrial college radio stations nationwide.

Michael Nova, who created X: The Human Condition, is an existential explorer. A powerful performer, composer, filmmaker and producer, Michael has released X: The Human Condition, with a D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) aesthetic that persevered after over a decade of, at times, seemingly insurmountable challenges. During production, Michael lost his vision, but experienced a miraculous recovery, which in turn drove him to complete X: The Human Condition. Now he brings the work to the world, to inspire others to make a positive change as he did, and make a difference.

All profits from ticket and album sales from this performance will be donated to The Jed Foundation (www.halfofus.com) and AFSP (www.afsp.org).

"An amazing album… may build on many of the stepping stones of the past, but is definitely an album and concept that treads towards the future, and new possibilities in ways that many artists have not even started to consider." - SlowDiveMusic Blog

"X: The Human Condition is something entirely different and unique. It is more than just an album.
It is an audio-visual assault on your senses."- The Scene, AU
