  • (1888PressRelease) April 19, 2012 - Lake Dallas, Texas - The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Texas announced today that Windell Middlebrooks, television star and celebrity, will serve as Honorary Chairman at their 6th Annual Benefit Celebrity Golf Tournament on April 26, 2012 at Lantana Golf Club, Lantana, Texas.

"We are ecstatic that Windell is taking time out of his busy acting schedule to come back and support our Club", said Babs Troutman, President and Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Texas. "Last year Windell went the extra mile at our event and visited and signed autographs for all of our Club members in attendance and met with our tournament golfers, sponsors and volunteers", Troutman stated.

Middlebrooks, a Fort Worth, Texas native, portrays Dr. Curtis Brumfield, Assistant Deputy Chief Medical Examiner, on the ABC Television Network series Body of Proof. As the genial and beloved Miller High Life Delivery Man, Middlebrooks is undoubtedly one of the most recognized faces on television. Middlebrooks has also had recurring roles on a number of TV shows including "Scrubs," "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," Disney Channel's "Suite Life on Deck" and Comedy Central's "Weekends at the D.L."

"I recently heard a quote from T. D. Jakes that said "Greatness is contagious. You'll catch it if you get around it!" I had the opportunity to get around it last year as the Honorary Chairman of the Boys and Girls Clubs Benefit Golf Tournament. So many people came together to make it possible for young people to keep being inspired. And we had the time of our lives doing it! So I'm excited to be the Honorary Chairman again this year. I hope to see more smiling faces this year making a difference. Let the good times roll", Middlebrooks said.

According to Troutman, the annual golf tournament has been the biggest fundraiser for the Club. In 2012 two additional events have been planned including the Magic, Illusions and Comedy Show of Las Vegas Entertainers Gary and Mihaela Carson in October and the Awesome Big Kid Banquet in November.
