Bagley has been selected to serve as the chair of the board of visitors. In his new role, Bagley will assist the dean, faculty and leadership in developing and evaluating strategic planning efforts and launching new initiatives.

    A 1982 graduate of Campbell Law, Bagley has served on the board since its inception in 2010. He is the deputy managing partner and head of litigation for McGuireWoods LLP, a 900-lawyer firm with three offices in North Carolina and 20 offices in the United States and abroad.

    As chairman of the firm's consumer products safety team, Bagley has extensive experience in defending clients in automotive, power products and toxic tort cases. He has argued in state and federal district and appellate courts across the country.

    The board of visitors is made up of a dynamic group of leaders, including the clerk of the U.S. Supreme Court; the chief justice of the N.C. Supreme Court; the vice president and chief counsel of Kellogg's employment, labor and intellectual property; managing partners of national and regional law firms; and business leaders.

    The group works to enhance all aspects of the law school by serving as a sounding board to evaluate ideas and helping to develop important relationships throughout the business, legal, academic and nonprofit community.
