  • (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2013 - The annual ENTER conference, which is organized by the International Federation for Information Technology and Travel & Tourism (IFITT), offers a worldwide and unique forum for attendees from academia, industry, government and other organizations to actively exchange, share, and challenge state-of-the-art research and industrial case studies on the application of information and communication technologies to travel and tourism. For 2014 IFITT has invited a number of well-known international speakers who will contribute to the global eTourism knowledge dissemination through their presentations related to the conference's main theme 'Where Social Inspiration meets Dynamic eTourism Innovations'.

    The first conference day will start with a keynote speech by Mike Short who is the Vice President of Public Affairs at Telefonica Europe. He will give insights from his 38 years of experience in electronics and telecommunications through his presentation about 'Internet for All - Impact on Tourism and Travel'. Mike will be followed by another interesting keynote speech from Des O' Mahony, founder and CEO of the multi-award-winning industry leader in hotel booking and distribution software Bookassist. Des will share his comprehensive knowledge by explaining 'How Mobile Is Transforming Hospitality and Distribution' .In the afternoon Richard Lewis, CEO Interchange & Consort Hotels Ltd, Best Western Hotels GB will give a presentation about 'Future Hunting in the Hospitality Industry'. After Richard's presentation Ana Escurin, Social Media Manager at NH Hotels will conclude the first conference day by introducing 'The Social Traveler - a Global Review'.

    On the second conference day delegates can listen to two keynote presentations. Thomas Rödel, head of product portfolio Northern, Eastern, Central and Southern Europe at Amadeus will start with his insights into 'Contextual Relevance in Online Travel'. After that lead engineer at SITA Lab Kevin O'Sullivan will talk about the topic of 'Beyond the Smart Phone'.

    On Friday, the CEO of the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) Liz Ward will review '12 Years of the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse - What We've Learnt and What the Future Hold'.

    Not to be missed are also the representatives from powerful tourism and technology companies who will contribute to the great panel discussions at ENTER 2014. Among them are Aoife Desmond (Facebook), Gareth Gaston (Wyndham Hotel Group), Dave Pavelko (Google), Colm Lyon (Realex Payments) ,Scott McLure (Tripadvisor) and many more.
