Waste King: working for a greener, environmentally-friendly world

Top Quote While the hot summer weather has been encouraging many people to 'take it easy', the specialist collections, clearance and recycling company, Waste King, has been redoubling its efforts to make London and the Home Counties a greener, more environmentally-friendly place. End Quote
  • (1888PressRelease) July 12, 2011 - Recent Waste King contracts included working at a site next to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club's headquarters in Wimbledon, during the recent tennis championships; providing waste removal services to a £15m development project in London, and providing five skips to the luxury golf and spa resort, The Grove, in Watford.

In addition, said Waste King's Glenn Currie: "We undertook a huge clearance job for a woman who had just moved in to her new home and found that the previous occupants had left behind some five tons of waste!

"You'd be amazed how many people face this issue when they move home - although it's unusual to find five tons of rubbish in your new home when you arrive," he added.

Waste King, which provides a wide range of waste collection and recycling services, is equally at home working for domestic as well as commercial clients. Whatever the job and whoever the client, Waste King's uniformed, Environment Agency-licensed staff take time to ensure that the maximum amount of waste can be recycled and that all the waste it collects is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

Currie's colleague, Andy Cattigan, explained: "Separating our customers' waste means that we can maximise the amount of that waste that can be recycled - which can only be beneficial for the environment. In turn, this reduces the amount of our customers' waste that goes to landfill.

"Separating the waste materials when we collect them makes it easier - and often cheaper - for us to dispose of these materials," he added. "Moreover, it means that customers can get accurate audits of their waste."

Waste King - now four years old - has developed a 'material separation' process that is highly efficient and, it believes, is cost-effective. In addition, it has built up contacts with a network of industry-leading commercial recycling facilities and transfer stations which re-use and recycle these waste materials.
