  • (1888PressRelease) December 19, 2013 - The panel discussions will explore the themes of 'Constant Connectivity', 'Meta Search and Social Media - The New Battlegrounds for the Consumer?', 'How Technology Enables the Irish Tourism Product - A 2020 Vision' and 'ICT and Tourism: Important Trends and Next Revolutions'.

    The ENTER Conference, which is every year organized by the International Federation for Information Technology and Travel and Tourism (IFITT), offers a worldwide and unique forum for attendees from academia, industry, government, and other organizations to actively exchange, share, and challenge state-of-the-art research and industrial case studies on the application of information and communication technologies to travel and tourism. At ENTER 2014 some of the most relevant cutting-edge topics will be discussed in form of interactive panel discussions among delegates and representatives of well-known tourism and technology organizations.

    The first panel discussion will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.Under the moderation of Google Manager Ehud Ben-Haim industry experts Richard Lewis (Interchange & Consort Hotels; Best Western Hotels GB), James Connelly (Fetch) and Ann Reilly (Adara) will discuss the issue of 'Constant Connectivity'.

    After this first discussion, delegates can attend a fabulous keynote panel discussion themed  'Meta Search and Social Media - The New Battlegrounds for the Consumer?'. The discussion will be moderated by Senior Vice President of Global eCommerce at the Wyndham Hotel GroupGareth Gaston and explored by the keynote panelists Dave Pavelko (Google), Aoife Desmond (Facebook), Quentin Moores (DerbySoft) and Adrian Hans (TripAdvisor) whose combined expertise will guarantee groundbreaking outcomes.

    In parallel to the 'Meta Search and Social Media' discussion, the Irish eTourism Day will host another panel discussion focusing on eTourism Issues in Ireland. The panel discussion themed 'How Technology Enables the Irish Tourism Product - A 2020 Vision' with Irish eTourism industry' will be moderated by Alex Gibson (DIT) and discussed among the industry representatives Shane Nolan (Google) , Orla Carroll (Fáilte Ireland) , Colm Lyon (Realex Payments), Brian Harte (Tourism Ireland) and Kate Simpson (Facebook).

    The final panel discussion will take place on Friday. Moderated by Hannes Werthner (Vienna University of Technology) industry professionals Kevin O'Sullivan (SITA), Paul Baron (Tourism Victoria), Ehud Ben-haim (Google), Orla Carroll (Fáilte Ireland)  and Zheng Xiang (Virginia Tech) will share interesting insights and final conclusions about 'ICT and Tourism - Important Trends and Next Revolutions'.
