  • Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) February 22, 2011 - USA Martial Arts has been fostering future elite individuals through its Leadership Academy. Parents who bring their children to train, have also asked for additional offerings that match their own fitness goals. Now, Mr. Moore has partnered with fitness professional Patricia Alonso, and together they are adding 23 classes per week, including Power Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Gentle Yoga Therapy, Pilates and Zumba.

Mrs. Alonso is a certified Yoga and Pilates instructor, who initiated her practice 11 years ago as a regular workout program. In 20067, Mrs. Alonso was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which led to a complete hysterectomy. After the surgery, she was put in a series of hormonal treatments that not only added involuntary body-weight, but also had the potential to damage her liver and heart. As a result, Mrs. Alonso decided to cut off all medication and relied on Yoga as the only therapy to manage her condition. "I threw all medication to the garbage and turned my yoga practice into a healing therapy. Slowly but surely Yoga has eliminated all menopause symptoms. Yoga is my only medicine."

Patricia will teach not only to seasoned yogis, but also to individuals new to yoga, and those looking for alternatives to heal conditions such as menopause, arthritis, back pain, fibromyalgia, etc., Patricia's bilingual instruction -English/Spanish-, makes classes friendly for the Hispanic student, too.

"Nava Jivana's mission is to help individuals to Achieve their fitness goals, Awaken their inner happiness and Foster a peaceful mind. It's been my own personal journey and I'm looking forward to share it with others", said Mrs. Alonso. The new addition will also offer specialized workshops and master classes thru the year, including upcoming Ashtanga workshop with international Teacher Michael Gannon. Mr. Gannon will launch his US 2011 tour making Dallas, TX his first stop at USA Martial Arts on May 7~8.

Mrs. Alonso is a constant Yoga student, and has trained with Shiva Rea, Bryan Kest, Suze Curtis, Frog Lotus and the Himalayan Institute, among others.
