UK updates mandatory classification and labeling list with new and revised substances

(1888PressRelease) October 21, 2025 - Geneva – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 151/25 to provide an overview of the United Kingdom’s updated Great Britain mandatory classification and labeling list (GB MCL List).

The UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published documents supporting ministerial decisions on new and revised entries on the GB MCL List. New and revised substances include:
• 1H-benzotriazole
• n-hexane
• Methyl-1H-benzotriazole
• Perboric acid, sodium salt and similar compounds
• Silver

The latest edition entered into force on September 23, 2025, with a final compliance date of March 22, 2027.
