- (1888PressRelease) February 19, 2011 - Waterbury, CT - This collaborative program offers Quinnipiac education students the inimitable opportunity to learn about international teaching methods and to share their knowledge they've obtained through their college curriculums on this special March 2011 spring break opportunity. During this period of time, students and faculty members will spend a week in rural school districts in Nicaragua, leading a professional development conference for elementary and secondary school teachers in the region.
Assisting the students and faculty in their efforts, Tools Plus will donate 72 of the Stanley 30-496 5m Tape Rules to the Albert Schweitzer Institute. Tools Plus.com partnered with Stanley to make this important contribution. The Albert Schweitzer Institute coordinates with various departments at Quinnipiac University to sponsor service trips to areas of need in Nicaragua and Barbados. Participants use various tools to assist in the development and improvement of these disadvantaged areas while linking education, ethics and voluntarism. This program also prepares our future teachers with instructional strategies they can use to help improve education in mathematics, science and language arts back in the United States.
