The Wine Feed, a specialty online wine retailer and event venue based in Downtown Raleigh, N.C., is launching a series of spring wine classes to help wine drinkers expand their knowledge and appreciation of wine through stimulating, educational courses that will help them to make educated wine selections.

    To start off the spring series, The Wine Feed will dive into the various components that make wine such a diverse and fascinating beverage and offer activities like aroma stations and blind tastings to expand participants' palates.

    • Going Out On a Limb - The Road Less Traveled - Exploring New Varietals
    Wed., April 18, 2012, 7-8:30 p.m. at The Wine Feed

    The Wine Feed understands that there are hundreds of wonderful wines from around the world outside of the top 10 most popular. This class will focus on the quirky and interesting grape varietals and styles of wine that are well known in other parts of the world but seldom seen in the U.S. Participants will enjoy a mix of three reds and three whites that may be a bit hard to pronounce but will taste absolutely great!

    • Purchasing Power: How to Pick the Right Wine Every Time
    Wed., May 16, 2012, 7-8:30 p.m. at The Wine Feed

    This class will deliver a few pointers that will eliminate the possibility of eatery embarrassments and gift-giving guffaws. The stimulation-style event will allow participants to choose which wines will be tasted for the class. Through a few trial and error experiences, participants will learn wine and build a lot of consumer confidence. Prizes will be given to the top pairings of the evening!
