Art Bengaluru, over the past 4 years, has attempted to increase art appreciation in the city and encourage fresh thinking, new ideologies pertaining to art and its mediums. Bangalore is home to some of the most liberal minds in the country and this celebrated event aims to carve a niche for Bangalore on the global map of Art & Luxury. About the Theme:
The 5th edition of Art Bengaluru aims to reflect upon the Renaissance period, one of the most prominent art periods in Europe, by highlighting some of the best works of art from around the world. The Collection at UB City, this year, will be transformed into a haven of European Art, giving us a glimpse of the past, by bringing alive the Renaissance period. The rich chapters of European Art History will be the inspiration for the décor, theme and installations within UB City, whose architecture already resonates an international theme. With mashaal lighting, a frame entrance, the Colosseum as the backdrop for the evening's entertainment, the festival is all set to transport one back in time to one of the most enriching eras of European Art, showcased by a life-size book on the various famous paintings, junk art of paintings and an enormous scroll with information on the era.

The word 'Renaissance' is a French word meaning rebirth and refers to the revival of art and culture in Europe after the Middle Ages and to the actual revolution, focused around one of the city-states of Italy, Florence. This revolution was the resurgence of creative study and the glorification of artists, painters and sculptures. Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci & Raphael were some of the famous artists from this period.
