The restaurant will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, February 4, 2011, with a special ribbon cutting ceremony with The Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and special guests. The Palmetto offers fine dining, a full service bar, special selected wines and live jazz on Friday and Saturday evenings. The Palmetto is open for lunch and dinner and is not only great for business meetings or a date night, but prides itself in being family-friendly and appropriate for people of all ages.

    Serving French southern cuisine, the restaurant boast there signature Charleston White Cheddar Shrimp and Grits an exclusive dish by Executive Chef and Owner Carlos Brown. Chef Carlos treats guests to signature delicacies from the menu such as the Carolina Classic Lamb Chops served over a secret Palmetto sauce, Walnut-Crusted Chicken and much more. Dessert menu also offers a signature White Chocolate Bread Pudding, "A taste you can only find in the low country", says Brown. "Low country cooking is the southern authority of cuisine from the coastal Carolina region down to Georgia. When you think of low country, you think of all the vibrant dishes like gullah shrimp and seafood added to each dish", adds Ezekiel Jiles, Co-Owner.

    "We are thrilled to be opening our restaurant and bar in downtown Greensboro," said Rik Dalton, Co-Owner of The Palmetto. "I want this to be a place where everyone can come and have a great time and get back in the groove of dressing up and stepping out" said Jiles. As part of the opening day festivities, The Palmetto will host a special lunch for city officials, ribbon cutting ceremony and will feature a special dance performance from Noon to 3pm, as well as a bone marrow drive hosted by Preserve Our Legacy. The evening celebration will commence with a private VIP reception sponsored by Tyku Liqueur with complimentary appetizers from the menu from 5pm to 6pm and general dining 6pm until closing. The restaurant will also be accepting reservations that evening.

    The Palmetto is also available for private parties and special occasions. The restaurant features wine tastings on Tuesday evenings and live entertainment on the weekends, The Palmetto plans to bring an added charm and character to Greensboro.
