"The publishing industry is evolving. Traditional printing (including Newspapers, Magazines and Books) have been losing sales consistently for the last few years. Major companies are going out of business as their customers migrate to electronic environments to purchase the same materials. We are seeing the emergence of electronic publishing taking off with strong success. Of course, there is no substitute for good writing." Author Patrick Donnell, www.PatrickDonnell.net

Here is what the critics are saying about The Legacy Inheritance.

"When I read about this book on the Internet, I was intrigued by the concept:

A "mystery inheritance"?... a journey to discover a legacy inheritance?... what could that mean?

Jeremy Worth finds himself unemployed at a time in life when he is no longer full of youthful energy, too old to be starting over, and too young to retire... a situation in which many in today's society can identify.

The author does a good job of showing us Jeremy's feeling of helplessness and fear without hitting us over the head with it.

I was particularly impressed with one episode when Jeremy goes downtown for a job interview.

Overly concerned about making a good impression, he leaves home too early and arrives downtown before dawn. The streets are empty and footsteps echo... suggesting Jeremy's own feelings of desolation.

He feels that he has made a good impression, but leaves without any decision except that he will be called for a second interview.

However, before that second call comes, he receives a call from a law firm about "an inheritance from an old friend".

He will receive that inheritance, he is told, after he writes the eulogy for a certain Blake Kudrow, and he must interview a total of 16 people to gather the information needed.

He begins the task without enthusiasm, but, perhaps, because he has nothing better to do.

Gradually his mood improves as he gains understanding and insight. Since he is looking at his interview subjects from afar, he is able to see things that the person can no longer see.

The reader, along with Jeremy, sees little things, a slightly mis-guided way of thinking, a relatively minor bad habit, perhaps, that turned around early could have made the difference between success and failure.

Again, the author does a good job here... there is no preaching or even emphatic teaching, but from the more successful interviewees, Jeremy learns tips such as one told about how to handle a business disaster.

Make out a plan for what you would do if the worst should happen, he was told... then put that plan away and never think about it again.

This would be a good book for anyone facing changes in life... and would make an excellent high school or college graduation gift.

I think many reviewers would give this book 5 stars... but I think that has become too much of a habit... to give any good book 5 stars.

Along with a number of top reviewers of my acquaintance, I think a really really good book should get 4 stars... while 5 stars should be reserved for something like... oh, say... War and Peace.

This is a really really good book, so 4 stars, it is." CJ Allan.
