  • (1888PressRelease) September 28, 2013 - The Irish Day will be an important part of the ENTER 2014 conference, which is organised by the International Federation for Information Technology and Travel and Tourism (IFITT). It is aimed at engaging the Irish eTourism community through discussions about topics that are of particular interest to the Irish tourism and hospitality industry. Throughout this conference day tourism experts present current trends in eCommerce, smart technologies and eMarketing and outline examples of successful implementations from the Irish tourism industry. The Irish Day will be chaired by Patrick Horan from the Dublin Institute of Technology and Ciaran Doherty from Tourism Ireland.

    The conference day will start with a session about 'Managing the Customer' Experience in the Social Age, moderated by Theo Lynn from the Dublin City University (DCU). The session commences with presentations like 'From Customer Elation to Gamification' given by Celine Weldon from Guinness Storehouse and 'To B.E or not to B.E: The Future of Retailing in the Online Travel Sector' introduced by Bobby Healy from CarTrawler. In the second part of this session Niall Harbison from Simply Zesty will give an insight into 'Apps, Traps & Mishaps', followed by Paul Savage from ZolkC who will talk about 'Augmented Reality - The World Is What You Make It!' and Feargal Mooney from Hostelworld presenting 'eDistribution Optimisation: Pick'n'Mix'.

    The Irish Day will conclude with a vibrant panel discussion that will be moderated by Alex Gibson from the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). Panelists include Shane Nolan from Google, Aoife Desmond from Facebook, Peter Mac Cann from the Merrion Hotel and Colm Lyon from Realex Payments. The day will conclude with a reception at the Guinness Storehouse, which is a great opportunity for delegates to mingle.
