  • Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV (1888PressRelease) September 08, 2011 - Today, The Hot Mommas Project announced their plan to expand curriculum to address the confidence crisis prevalent amongst young women. The new curriculum, Sis U, will provide a series of seminars and classes giving young women a real world leadership toolkit and the guidance to use it.

"The confidence crisis for women is like a cruel joke," says Kathy Korman Frey, Entrepreneur in Residence at the George Washington School of Business and Hot Mommas Project founder. "Women have natural leadership skills, we dominate the number of higher degrees earned in this country, we increase GDP globally, and we make companies that promote us more profitable. What many of us are missing - sometimes without even realizing it -- is the confidence chip, which is the key to bigger and better opportunities. That's what this new Sis U curriculum is all about."

Numerous studies indicate that women are naturally predisposed to having lower self- confidence than their male counterparts. Research shows that this self-confidence divide starts in early girlhood, and grows to larger levels in teenage years.

"The good news is that our new curriculum is proven not only to measurably boost a woman's confidence, but that she can walk out and replicate what she's learned anytime, anywhere. That's true power," says Professor Frey. "Attendance at our Sis U seminar truly means you're joining a Sisterhood of Success. It's not just nice messaging and pom poms."

The social venture is launching their first seminar at the George Washington School of Business on Oct. 15th, but plans to take the seminars to schools and organizations across the country in conjunction with the building of a new digital classroom in 2012.
