In announcing the latest acquisition recently of Webster Engineering in Lewiston ME, Cantone said, "We are pleased to add the Lewiston ME location to our New England Parker Store family. The Hope Group was founded in 1933 by the Rhoten family of Massachusetts. For the past 50 years it has been an authorized full-line Parker Hannifin Distributor, featuring hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, instrumentation, o-ring & sealing, and hose & fittings components and systems. From its 60,000 sq ft warehouse and manufacturing facility in Northborough MA, the company designs and builds custom machinery for the defense, semiconductor, marine, pulp & paper, mining, power generation, life sciences, and mobile hydraulics markets, according to Richard Wright, Marketing Manager for the parent company, THG Corporation.

    Motion and Control
"The Hope Group was founded as a distributor of rubber products for consumers and small businesses during the early years of the depression," said Wright. "Today, it has become a dominant player in the motion and control business in New England, backed by the strength and international presence of the $10 billion Parker company," he added. "Parker is best known for its aerospace and motion and control technologies, that are applied through its major core competencies in hydraulics, pneumatics, automation and instrumentation," he added.

The new website, TheParkerStore.com, features all six stores owned and operated by The Hope Group. The stores each carry an inventory of 3,000 parts and are staffed by factory-trained specialists who can help customers identify and select the correct hydraulic hose and fitting for their needs. In addition, the stores serve as distribution and sales hub for The Hope Group's outside sales force, which consists of 20 experienced sales engineers with specialties in fluid connectors, fluid power, motion and control technologies and sealing solutions.

Wright stated that The Hope Group published its first website, TheHopeGroup.com, over 15 years ago, mostly as a brochure to let customers know what manufacturers and products it represented. About every five years since then, according to Wright, the website has undergone a complete makeover. The latest makeover of the website was uploaded on January 1, 2011, reflecting an increased commitment to making the website a source of education and information about the marketplace, the system solutions offered by the company and the depth and breadth of products available from Parker and other major manufacturers such as Balluff, Dixon, WAGO, IDEC, GE Intelligent Platforms, and many others.

TheParkerStore.com website provides specific information about the components and systems offered, as well as maps and directions to each location, contact information and links to product descriptions on vendor sites.
