Sarasota-Bradenton, FL (1888PressRelease) October 27, 2010 - Kathleen Bernhardt opens the doors to an exciting new gallery in the Historic Rosemary District at 1419 B 5th Street. Ms. Bernhardt, a Sarasota resident since 2002, brings 20 years of experience in the art field to the Sarasota area this Fall with a Grand Opening November 5th.

The Opening Night Gala (Friday, November 5th ) features a group show of 7 gallery artists. Wine and hor d'oeuvres will be served. Show hours are from 5 to 8pm.

As a nationally recognized art consultant, Ms. Bernhardt's many projects have been featured in several NPR radio interviews, national TV news features and countless newspaper articles. As a gallery owner and art consultant she has had major museum exhibits featuring her work and public art projects.

"I have been an active member of the art community in Chicago for the past 25 years and maintain my art consulting company , Corporate Art Source, in the River West area in Chicago while spending my time here in Sarasota," says Bernhardt.

"My vision for the gallery is to introduce important new artists to the Sarasota area while at the same time continuing to serve the art needs of the public sector. Sarasota is unique to Florida because of its serious commitment to the arts, it's enlightened and historic city center with interesting and diverse 'neighborhoods' like the Rosemary District which make the decision to open a gallery here an easy one. The renovation style of the 1419 5th Street location is very much like Soho in New York or the new galleries in old buildings that I saw in Switzerland, Germany and France where the aged and worn older surfaces of plaster, stone and paint are allowed to create a patina upon which remodeling occurs allowing the old to show through the new."
